Description
Mystic Depths: The Corrupted King is a 2D adventure RPG blending exploration, survival, and mystery in a dark world ruled by the Baldemar Empire.
Explore a world shaped by oppression, where each region tells its own story. Travel through cities crushed under imperial rule, descend into deep mines filled with forgotten secrets, and venture into ancient dungeons hidden beneath the surface.
The game focuses on dangerous and progressive exploration, where light plays a crucial role. A dynamic day/night cycle transforms the experience: as darkness falls, enemies become more threatening and environments more hostile. Underground areas shrouded in darkness require preparation, caution, and resource management to survive.
Throughout your journey, your character grows through a progression system based on multiple attributes (strength, agility, speed, wisdom, and intelligence). These stats directly influence combat effectiveness, exploration, and survival in increasingly dangerous environments.
Gameplay combines open exploration, combat against various enemies, equipment management, and the discovery of increasingly challenging areas. By finding new weapons, armor, and items, you can improve your abilities and adapt your playstyle to face the world’s dangers.

User Reviews
It's jus an old JPRG. Doesn't cost anything and it's old school fun
Compared the Muskrat's height to the Player's... Why is it 20ft long?
So, I’m almost 6 hours into the game now, and honestly, where do I even start...
The story at the beginning is already an annoying back and forth across the entire map, constantly sending you from one place to another.
And right at the beginning, some random chest can poison you before you even have access to any antidotes. Great.
Then there’s the progression. Monsters don’t drop any gold, so the MC learns how to mine ore instead. That means you basically have to grind through mines and fight ore deposits that can only be damaged with a pickaxe just to make enough money for better equipment.
But be careful: go down just one floor in a mine and suddenly the mobs are strong enough to straight up oneshot you, meaning you get to start the whole trip all over again.
The MC even has skills specifically for the pickaxe, but attacking with it doesn’t give you any TP. You only gain TP by attacking with a sword except, of course, you can’t use the pickaxe skills with the sword. Makes sense.
And if the MC dies to the adds around the ore, you can end up stuck in the fight even after killing all the adds. The MC with his pickaxe is sometimes the only character who can actually damage the ore, so once he’s dead and only the ore is left, you literally can’t finish the fight and the game still doesn’t let you escape.
Then there’s the Rogue, who actually learns an Escape skill... which requires TP to use. So if you suddenly run into enemies that are way too strong, your options are basically to attack once and somehow survive every enemy attack afterward, or defend and pray you survive long enough to get enough TP to escape. Completely useless.
Almost 6 hours in and I still haven’t found a single revive item. If a character dies, you have to walk all the way back to the church to revive them and they come back with exactly 1 HP.
Don’t have enough gold for the inn afterward? Well, enjoy walking across the map to some crappy little tent where you can sleep for free, hoping you can successfully escape from every random monster encounter along the way.
And after all that, the merchant is STILL selling the weakest healing potion in the game. Sometimes I have to buy like 50 of them just to have any chance of making progress.
Bye bye gold.
Edit: The game has since been patched, so some of this review/feedback is no longer valid.
I completed the game and i can't recommend it, even for free, here is why:
