Love AO
Honestly, when I first played this, I thought the game was going to be really boring bcs I started with Shiroha’s route, and I really struggled to get into it. The pacing felt slow, the story didn’t grab me, makes me wonder what the hype around this game was actually about since i've seen so many people call it a masterpiece. Shiroha is as bland as cardboard & the mc is just a pervert.
But then I started Ao’s route, I realize that Summer Pockets is a game that requires patience. The story slowly builds itself up, and as I played more routes, I started to see the deeper themes & emotional weight behind the characters & their stories. What initially felt like a very simple and uneventful visual novel gradually became something much, much, much more meaningful.
Ao’s route in particular completely changed my opinion of the game. I loved the way her story was written, & it made me much more invested in the world & characters. Tsumugi’s route was another one of my favorites. Their routes definitely still have their flaws, and I wouldn't say either route is perfect. But when each story finally reached its emotional moments, I found them genuinely beautiful. The voice acting, music, and visuals all came together incredibly well, & they made those scenes hit much harder. Even when I had criticisms about the routes themselves, I couldn't deny how emotionally impactful those moments were. It's in those scenes where I really understood what makes Summer Pockets so special. I have both Ao & Tsumugi tied for the best routes mugyu~
I like Ao
Picked this up cause i've been wanting to play it for some time and i've enjoyed it so far only gotten throught 1/4 of the game and its been fun I'd recommend getting this before Blue Reflection just to see how different the games are but u do u i say.
