Will To Live Online offers an immersive survival experience reminiscent of the Stalker series, yet it is significantly undermined by persistent technical and community issues. 10/10 avoid at this point.

Runescape removed trading.....no one learned a thing. Tarkov removes dropping things for friends.....still no one learns a dang thing...and here we are with these money grubby ruski devs removing trading cause a few people are too dumb to pirate properly so they remove trading....THEN MAKE YOU PAY to store the items you cant trade.

Bought the game in 2018 was ok they had some updates they weren't bad but they were few and far between. one of the first major content updates was testing grounds and that came out in 2021. The next content update didn't come until 2024.

For absolutely 0 reason they level locked bosses to levels that would take a vanilla wow raid team to beat.

NPCs that aren't monsters have legit aimbot and delete you while moving like a crack head and this has been since launch nothings ever changed here, Monsters range from jokes to farmable to just out right unkillable and unfun. you get to lvl 12 go sit in one spot till you're 20-22 then go sit in a different spot until your 50 there isnt much variation for leveling. quests basically say go find this GOOD LUUUUCK.

They are too dumb to figure out how to merge servers there is 8 Russian servers 2 dead AU servers 2 dead CN servers 2 dead EU servers 2 dead US servers. They say they don't know how or don't have the ability to merge servers or allow transfers. They actually had a server corrupt and delete its self so every one on that server got to start over in 2025.

The only times servers have more then 4 people is for holiday events (which spoiler you cant trade the items you get from these any more) then you have to deal with the braindead Russians trolling everything so they changed events to be instanced and locked to a max of 20 people over lvl 10 so you get stuck not being able to complete it cause you got 8 lvl 10s and 5 people high enough level to do anything and 3/5 of them are blind deaf and have 2 braincells fighting for 3rd place.

To top it off for a while every time i closed this piece of cobbled together crap it opens my task manager and today it decided to open and close a random cmd prompt. makes my gpu run at 85c might have a bitcoin miner at this point.

The only saving grace of this game is the PVP its one of the last bastions for FPS that isn't plagued by SBMM or controllers auto aiming you into nothingness.

It's free so it's worth trying, it has an active admin team which is more than what modern games today has.
It's it worth investing time? No. Started over in 2026 and the game with it's characters are broken.
          Classes
Miner - Specialize in shotgun. Shotguns were nerfed to the point that they are useless, even against rats. Only shotgun worth getting is the auto-shotgun and that is an end game item.
Sniper - Specialize in rifles. Rifles help with high DPS but only helps if you are in a squad. Solo, a sniper is worse than a shotgun, you miss and you are dead. Snipers can also detect nearby enemies which is the only reason to play them.
Mercenary - Specialize in AR. The only weapon worth using, not the best damage but 10 bullets do more damage than 1.
Engineer - Specialize in SMG. The substitute until you unlock an AR. Heavy on weapon durability and even worse on ammo, at least the ammo is light and cheap.
There is no player guide, they throw you into the world and say good luck. Bots are running around with aimbot and will end you in 1-2 shots from across the map. Pretty sure they have flash speed or teleportation. When you move from 1 sector to another, you enter a save zone, aside from some caves. You enter the cave, get attacked but can't shoot for a few seconds, this issue has been in the game since release, never been fixed. Moving across the map is a pain and requires Ciders or you'll be walking half the time, or invest in a bike, that requires gas. Green rivers can kill you on touch but green ponds are safe but only some, you have to guess which is which. There is a teleport gate that spawns you right next to an NPC camp, good luck escaping. You can spawn inside the black sun camp even if you are enemies with them, good luck getting out, they also have turrets outside their base.
A lot of missions have been modified and tutorials from missions before 2023, might be different. It was changed for absolute no reason.
The game is worth playing but once you reach L8 it gets annoying, L20 and it gets boring, L30+ and you are just playing to say you are playing.

This is one of my favorite games and its one of the only FPS-MMORPGs out there. Combine it with Unreal Engine and you get a very "Stalkerish" feel. It can be unforgiving at times, word of advice, don't adventure to far out if you aren't confident in your level. Don't want to get stranded.
If you like traditional MMORPGs and FPS this is just for you. It's one of my favorite definitely check it out.

If Stalker met Stalcraft and had a baby; it would be Will to Live.
