I think that the entire Duck Life series is the perfect children's game.
Unfortunately, I didn't have as much fun with this part as I did with Duck Life 4.
Duck Life 6: Space has good minigames but unfortunately also some bugs.

Feels bad giving this a not recommend but it's just not that fun. In comparison to 1-5 this game doesn't do a whole lot new and a lot the minigames in this one just aren't very fun. It feels the most grindy and boring out of the ones I've played. If you're going to get a DL game get Retro Pack or 4, or any of the ones released after this cuz I doubt they're less fun than 6.

Duck Life 6: Space takes the familiar training and racing foundation of the Duck Life series and expands it into a cheerful interplanetary adventure. Developed by Wix Games and published by MoFunZone Inc, the game begins with an intentionally silly but effective premise. Your duck has already reached the top as a racing champion when an alien duck suddenly arrives through a wormhole, steals the championship crown, and escapes into space. Recovering that crown becomes the motivation for traveling between strange planets, developing a stronger racing team, and challenging increasingly capable extraterrestrial competitors.

Progression revolves around improving six different abilities: running, swimming, flying, climbing, jumping, and intelligence. Intelligence is particularly notable because it broadens the traditional collection of physical skills. Rather than increasing these abilities through a conventional experience system, players participate in dedicated training mini-games. With 24 training activities spread across the six disciplines, there is enough variation to keep the process entertaining for much of the adventure. The mini-games are deliberately accessible and generally easy to understand, making the experience suitable for casual players. Their simplicity can eventually produce some repetition, especially when additional training is necessary before difficult races, but steadily watching a duck become more capable remains satisfying.

The adventure is divided across six planets, each featuring its own alien duck population and selection of challenges. This planetary structure gives the game a stronger feeling of progression than simply moving through increasingly difficult races. Exploring another world means encountering different opponents, finding additional training activities, and preparing for the tournament required to continue the journey. Winning these major competitions allows the team to advance farther through space and closer to the stolen crown. More than 30 races are available overall, providing a worthwhile number of opportunities to test the abilities developed through training.

Racing emphasizes preparation more than complicated direct control. A well-trained duck naturally performs better, making the hours spent improving individual skills meaningful when an important tournament arrives. This design creates an addictive cycle in which training leads to stronger performances, victories unlock additional content, and new destinations introduce tougher challenges that encourage further improvement. It is not an especially sophisticated racing system, and players looking for deep competitive mechanics may find it too straightforward. However, the simplicity works well within the game's casual identity because advancement is always easy to understand.

Another enjoyable element is the ability to assemble a team rather than relying exclusively on one duck. Shops allow players to recruit additional racers, creating opportunities to develop multiple characters while building a more capable squad. Customization adds personality to this system through hats, hairstyles, clothing, paint, and other cosmetic choices. These options have more visual than strategic importance, but they make the ducks feel more individual and reinforce the playful nature of the experience. Creating an unusually dressed team of elite space-faring racing ducks fits perfectly with the game's intentionally absurd personality.

Presentation is colorful, clean, and appropriately lighthearted. The different planets and alien ducks provide visual variety, while the character designs preserve the simple charm associated with Duck Life. It does not rely on visual complexity to create appeal. Instead, bright environments, expressive ducks, unusual extraterrestrial opponents, and distinctive locations establish an inviting atmosphere. The music similarly complements the relaxed tone and keeps training sessions and races energetic without distracting from the gameplay.

The main limitation is repetition. Despite having numerous training mini-games, the basic routine remains largely unchanged throughout the adventure. Players train, enter races, earn progression, improve their team, and repeat the process on another planet. Anyone who enjoys incremental improvement can find this loop surprisingly compelling, but those who expect constant mechanical evolution may eventually feel that they are repeating variations of the same activities. The narrative is also intentionally lightweight, functioning primarily as an entertaining excuse for sending racing ducks into space rather than delivering an elaborate story.

Steam Deck compatibility deserves some caution. The Steam store does not currently display an official Steam Deck compatibility rating for Duck Life 6: Space, and its listed native platforms are Windows and macOS rather than Linux. This means it should not be described as officially Steam Deck Verified or Playable. Since the Windows version may potentially be run through Steam Deck's Proton compatibility layer, owners can experiment with it, but compatibility, controls, interface behavior, and overall stability should not be assumed to be officially guaranteed. Players purchasing specifically for Steam Deck should therefore treat it as an unsupported or unverified experience rather than expecting certified handheld compatibility.

Duck Life 6: Space succeeds because it understands the appeal of uncomplicated progression. Training a weak duck into an accomplished racer is inherently satisfying, and expanding that idea across multiple planets gives the formula a greater sense of scale. Six trainable abilities, 24 mini-games, more than 30 races, multiple planets, team recruitment, customization, tournaments, and alien competitors create considerably more variety than the game's simple appearance might suggest. It is repetitive by design and unlikely to satisfy players seeking a technically deep racing simulator, but as a casual progression-driven adventure it remains charming, accessible, and consistently amusing.
