This game was my favorite back when it released and I still love it to this day
Instead of playing a horror game I spent my first 10 minutes trying to understand how to reload my shotgun.
I would've forgiven it if it was some kind of bug but the games been released since 2017, never touching this game unless I feel like understanding the "simple" controls
One of the best VR titles I've played personally, especially as a horror game. It doesn't have locomotion, so you for the most part stand in one place (which is nice since my controllers suffer from drift pretty badly.)
It is GREAT as a horror game, and the duck shooting is very fun albeit rather repetitive at times. definitely, the most fun I've had in a shooting game, though sometimes motion controls are finnicky, but that's likely a side-effect of using Steam Link over Wifi.
Overall my only nitpicks have been it getting repetitive, the frickin' Home Run achievement which I can't get for the LIFE OF ME (I SWEAR I'M DOING IT RIGHT), and if other accounts use your PC (like maybe family share) they won't get their own save, which can possibly mess up a first playthrough (i.e. some endings aren't available on a first playthrough) -- along with syncing achievement progress like Pro Gamer and the like. Ignorable if you don't care too much about that stuff.
Good concept, mediocre execution. The biggest issue with this game is that the most interesting part of the game is the horror segments but they take up the least amount of the gameplay. Most of the gameplay is just your normal duck hunt stuff, but the shotgun is incredibly uncomfortable to hold and your left hand can’t actually grab the pump. You just have to vaguely hover your hand where it should be, which means that pumping the shotgun is always inconsistent. I had to mess around with controller offsets in the steam VR settings because by default, the shotgun points very high up, which meant that I had to uncomfortably bend my wrist to be able to have a chance of hitting anything, even after setting offsets it was still uncomfortable as a whole. I wouldn’t recommend the game unless you’re just a big fan of stress level zero and wanted to see this part of VR history.
