This is a tough one for me. The game is very fun, I enjoyed playing it, but the performance drops off so badly towards the end as to make it essentially unplayable. I hope they address that. If they do, definitely worth picking up. If not... well, it was still fun.
Just like nearly every incremental it starts off slow, gets fun for a while, then once the game starts cooking about 2 hours in I'm also hitting the wall in terms of doing the same stuff over and over. I like how you can combine weapons and weapon powerups to make super weapons, there's a little bit of strategy to decide what goes where. Has that hook where, "I should really go to the bathroom/sleep/put out that fire, but let me see what this new build does first."
Nice but repetitive music and arcade/slot machine sound effects that makes a nice ding ding. Says it has controller support but it's poorly implemented, your ship will always turn to face the mouse cursor, which doesn't disappear as it should once someone starts using a controller.
fix performance. getting like 2 fps in the late game makes it unplayable to max out everything. No achievements, no end of the game boo.
It's unfinished - just starts breaking down at the end and there is no end and the performance basically becomes completely bricked. The final upgrades seem to almost be placeholder as well and I am not sure if they do anything at the end.
I guess it's fun for about 1-2 hours? Feels kinda sloppy - just a bit of polish would have made this much better.
This doesn't feel like a complete game yet, it feels like an early access game that hasn't been labelled as early access. There's some fun to be had here but...
There are a lot of bugs:
some upgrades don't take effect until after you leave and reenter the game
the performance is terrible, it starts hitching on the early levels and gets unplayable on the later ones
the equipment screen doesn't render properly in widescreen, it's cut off and you can't really see a lot of your ship config
the content also doesn't change at all on the planets, and teh weapons are just straight upgrades as you progress through, there isn't a reason to diversify at all.
Will keep an eye on updates and may come back to revise this as the game gets updated, there's a lot of potential adn if you want to kill a couple of hours it's not bad, but it's very incomplete
