Fantastic RPG, will say the DLC is way too expensive IMO. I do hope they make offline versions of the other main story arcs and side stories in future entries.

Do you think one plays 70 hours without reaching NG+ if the game isn't good?
If they tell you it's repetitive, yes like any turn based game once you find what works for you... but luckly you get a ton of characters to experiment with so just go make the most random party and it'll feel less repetitive.
The subquest with every character story were mostly nice, of course there's always gonna be someone you don't care about so it'll feel like a drag to read their story... just hold the button and skip the dialogue!
You don't really need the DLCs unless you like the characters in them, neither you need to buy the game at full price. Sales exist. So that's not a reason to tell anyone to not give the game a chance.
I played with Japanese voices and everything was voiced nicely. I don't know about the English dub.
I liked the story so far even if it doesn't have any huge deep lore or anything crazy (maybe the gacha version does, I don't know), I hope the endings in NG+ are as nice or better~

This is not a very good game. I've played much worse games but I'm not sure if I ever played a game that was so consistently disappointing. Disappointment is very hard to sustain because, with most bad games, you just quickly put them down and forget about them. This game keeps making you think that it had a choppy first act but soon it's going to pull itself together and start actually being awesome but it never really finds its footing.

I picked this game up because I was told it was very much like chrono trigger which was one of my all time favorites and you can definitely see some of the same influences. But it doesn't live up to its predecessor and it doesn't even seem very motivated to try to live up to it. I initially thought that due to the graphic design and number of characters that it felt more like a phone gacha game and it looks like that actually is where the game got started.
The game is incredibly easy for the most part, you can almost face roll through most of it, even without using more advanced techniques like the Ogre Recorem or the Valiant techniques. I almost forgot I had those abilities because I used them so infrequently. The characters are very bland and not well developed but the biggest pitfall for the game is definitely the story which never finds its footing.

The game has a lot of mechanics going on. There are chain skills which trigger based on various situations, Valiant Attacks where you can swap out one party for another while buffing yourself, and Ogre Recorem which gives you an "overdrive" feature. Any of these would be a decent amount of innovation for a typical JRPG game but putting them all together feels less like innovation and more like throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks. Because of all these different concepts added to standard combat, the game feels unfocused and I get the impression that none of these new ideas were given the proper development and space to breathe necessary to anchor the gameplay.
The characters have a similar problem with nineteen different characters in the game, you'll rapidly get bored of the new characters that appear and stop caring rather than playing around with new characters and learning their backstories.

Spoilers ahead.
The game starts slowly with your main character living in a small village until your younger sister is kidnapped by the beastmen. You get sucked into a portal and flung into the far future which starts the narrative. You may notice that this sounds very familiar to how Chrono Trigger began but it feels like it was designed by someone who knew how Chrono Trigger started but didn't understand why that opening was effective.
Chrono trigger starts quickly with rescuing Marle and once that's done, you discover that Lavos will end the world and everything flows from the characters efforts to stop it. It's a pretty effective way to keep the story flowing.
In Another Eden, you start the game running around with your sister. She's not a very well fleshed out character but you do manage to do some bonding before she is abducted by an evil army while you watch helplessly. To be fair, this is actually a pretty effective dramatic hook to start the game off with. But the game completely squanders that strong hook.
The problem is that after your sister is abducted you are sucked into a portal and flung into the future and you won't even hear your sister mentioned for most of the rest of the act. While in the future, Aldo meets new characters including robots and he just rolls with it without any sort of character driven reaction. Chrono never talked but he felt like more of a character than Aldo.
Aldo meets a girl named Amy and he starts helping her just do stuff in the future. The story puts absolutely no focus on rescuing his sister or finding his way home. His sister has been abducted and could be being tortured or killed, his father figure was badly injured and might be dying, Aldo might never find his way home again but the story just treats Aldo being trapped in the future as a minor inconvenience and since he's stuck here anyway, why not do a few fetch quests?
Aldo just becomes completely fixated on helping people he just met without much concern for rescuing his sister or finding his way back to his own time. Maybe the writer thinks this makes him seem heroic but it really makes him come across more as a blank slate and a puppet rather than a fleshed out character. It makes him feel like a completely unrealistic character because he seems to have no motivation aside from doing whatever the plot requires at any given time.
Eventually, timeline is changed and the future that Aldo saw gets wiped out before his eyes and Aldo becomes fixated on trying to restore it and rescue Amy and the other people there. Again, he's completely fixated on saving people he'd only know for a few hours and who won't be born for centuries in any case instead of getting home and rescuing his sister.
There are three main timelines in the game and the "present" and the "past" are both fairly wasted because they aren't differentiated enough. The present is depicted as medieval times and the past also seems fairly medieval. You could have just made them different continents in the same year without changing anything. It's a waste of opportunity.
The characters are almost all female and Aldo sometimes comes across as a typical anime harem protagonist, just a blank outline that players are expected to project themselves onto but who doesn't have much personality or motivation for doing anything aside from a pretty girl asked him to do it. The characters almost all join Aldo for no real reason and have no motivation for joining his quest which also makes the story feel weak and lacking stakes. The game has way more characters than it can properly develop and it really does feel like a gacha game cash grab.
By the time I'd gotten through act 2 I had completely given up on the game and no longer cared what happened next. It feels like a cash grab project lacking any real vision or passion to suck you in.
