Description
Match and merge cute underwater creatures!
Travel to the ocean floor, listen to some upbeat tunes and then match and merge creatures from smallest to largest to earn points. Match two of the largest sea creatures and you complete the sequence!
Use physics to nudge creatures into each other to create a larger creature
Play strategically to complete the sequence and trigger multiple merges
Earn squids to get out of tricky situations
Super cute ocean creatures (a lot of artistic license was taken - don't come at me Marine Biologists!)
Tips for players
If the time limit on throwing objects is stressing you out, you can take it easy and disable this in Game Settings
Up the 'Bounciness' in Game Settings for a crazier time, or lower it for a chilled experience
Keep an eye on placement of small creatures, lots of small critters will make completing the sequences difficult
Use your squids carefully, they can help if you aim them right or set you back if you do not time them correctly
Try not to get too excited by the chonky boys!

Ocean Pop Calypso Collision is a sea creature themed suika / watermelon merge style game. It has beautifully hand designed super cute critters and colourful backgrounds. The soundtrack is a number of happy calypso tracks, which will have you humming along in no time without being distracting. The gameplay mechanics are very simple. There is a tutorial if you want to use it and the game does issue helpful prompts.
I love this game. I previously played open world type games and sunk hundreds of hours into them, so this was a new style for me. Recently I hadn’t been able to play on anything but I saw these cuties and gave it a go. I’m hooked!
The game has two modes: Casual and Challenge.
Both are very fun depending on how you feel.
I like to play Casual if I’m having a bad brain day - it is the only thing I have found to calm me and clear my head. Those chunky whales are pure joy.
I like to play Challenge when I’m feeling in the mood for a chuckle (I recommend turning up the bounciness for extra chaos). The sound effects in this level are perfect.
I appreciate being able to play this both on my desktop at home and on my steam deck when I’m elsewhere and the graphics and sound are great on both.
I find I can play this just for a short while or I might play for hours trying to beat a high score. The thing is I keep coming back to it because it is quietly addictive but in a good way.
I also really appreciate the little adaptive touches like adjusting the drop speed and bounce. Also, although the game is bright there are no flashing lights that trigger my seizures. Another thing the creator has done to be inclusive is translated the game into Welsh, Hyfryd!
I think Ocean pop would be a great game for everyone, all ages and abilities. It’s lots of fun and will put a smile on your face.

It's a lovely, charming casual game that's perfect for relaxing with.
It's very satisfying to get bigger and bigger sea creatures and I'm having a lovely time with it.
I've been playing for quite a while now, enjoying it and figuring out strategies for higher scores... still enjoying it and I def. recommend!!
