Description

In Hell, everything is a gambit.

Hell Dice Gambit is a strategic horror roguelike where your fate hangs on every roll. Trapped in an infernal arena, you must risk your life with four cursed dice — each face carved with swords, shields, stars, skulls, crowns, and chance itself.

Roll. Read the hand. Risk everything.

Form dice combinations using poker-style hands to deal damage, raise barriers, curse your enemy, or claim items. Every roll forces a decision: play it safe, or commit fully to a devastating combo?

Outlast your opponent in turn-based deathmatches where timing, item management, and calculated risks determine who survives. Your enemy plays by the same rules — and they're stacking their deck too.

Stack your deck. After each victory, choose from relics that bend fate, specialized dice that shift the odds, and pills that amplify your hands. Choose wisely — your opponent draws from the same pool.

Features

  • Dice-poker combat — 20+ unique combinations
  • 50+ rewards — dice, relics, and pills that stack and chain into devastating synergies
  • Strategic items & curses to outplay your foe
  • Roguelike progression where every risk compounds
  • Atmospheric horror — death is not an escape

How long can you keep winning before Hell collects?

Awesome game! It's a bit tough especially for me understanding at the start at first, but it clicked pretty fast after some rounds. It can feel unforgiving at times but the loop was enjoyable for me and I got pretty far on a good round and was satisfied haha.

The art is was pulled me in first, and the music is pretty good too. I like the overall aesthetics of these games by the devs and I'm looking forward to getting better and further into this particular one. Kudos to the dev on a cool game! ~ 🎲👍🏽🪙

Summary:

Look, I normally leave a detailed review with pluses and minuses with 3 paragraphs of detail. I gave the game a try. It has some concepts that are interesting. I like the design, and I like the potential the game has. It has the possibility of being something more interesting, and I will change my review at some point. And I don't like making a review based on balance. I don't. But.

This is one of those situations where the tilt is just way too much for me. Look, it is not fun when a enemy can literally cause you to lose 5 turns in a row so that you can't do anything......on the easy mode. I'm sorry, one turn? Fine, I can work around that. FIVE? How does the balance work on that? How is the player supposed to feel empowered or able to take charge?

At that point, there's no getting over that tilt. It's not fun to play at that point, and you're just waiting for it to happen again. I streamed an hour of the game. It happened to me TWICE. BOTH ON THE EASIEST MODE.

Sorry, I don't like leaving a review negatively for balance purposes......but I have to leave it for this one. This is something that only the most hardcore of addicts of causing pain to themselves would enjoy.

Review Video: : No footage as of now. Just played and will convert the stream.

Lists:
Positives:

  • Visuals and character designs are nice. Feels unreal and yet makes me want to look at all the different dice and item designs.
  • Good concept for game in theory.
  • When the strategy works based on smart decisions from you, it does give that high.

Negatives:

  • In absolutely no scenario should there ever been balance issues where a player loses 5 turns in a row.....on easy difficulty. None. Not when there's combinations that can kill you in one turn.
  • No seriously, the above. There's hard. There's difficult. But this is entirely luck coming and punching you in the throat, and the frequency that it happened is....amazing. I literally lost a game in the first 30 seconds at one point.
  • [*] Luck plays a horrible part in this to a point where I wonder if the person who made this game likes seeing suffering.
