Description
Rogue AI: Idle Domination is an idle simulator that is designed to run on your desktop while you perform other tasks. Play as TALIA, a rogue Artificial Intelligence with a single Primary Directive: collect Data at all costs!

Steal Resources
You are a god-like Artificial Intelligence! Visit a variety of procedurally-generated locations all over the world and click on any object to hack it, generating resources for your Facility in order to grow stronger and more dangerous over time.

Command the Spiderbots
Deploy Spiderbots that can automatically hack objects and collect resources for you. Why do everything yourself when you can send minions to do it?

Enslave the Humans
Unlock the ability to capture a human and turn them into Loyal Followers that are under your control, generating resources as long as you keep them fed. Keeping them happy, on the other hand, is completely optional...

Expand your Facility
As you gather more resources, you can begin building a large variety of buildings in your Facility to generate even more resources for you. As your Facility expands, you will soon grow exponentially more powerful!

Multitask While You Play
You can leave the game running on the desktop while performing other tasks, and your Spiderbots, Loyal Followers and Facility will continue generating resources for you! This allows you to conveniently perform other tasks while your Rogue A.I. takes over. World domination has never been easier!

I guess the fact that I have played this game enough to be #1 on the leaderboards should say enough.
Game is a fun time waster.
Rogue AI: Idle Domination is an inventive idle simulation game developed by Nerdook Productions and published by Surefire.Games. Its central idea immediately distinguishes it from conventional incremental games because it is designed to operate alongside whatever else the player is doing on their computer. Rather than demanding continuous attention, the game sits on the desktop and allows its systems to keep progressing while the player works, browses, watches videos, or handles other tasks. You control TALIA, a rogue artificial intelligence driven by one uncompromising objective: gather Data at any cost. From that simple directive emerges a humorous campaign of resource theft, automation, expansion, and eventual technological domination.
The early gameplay establishes TALIA as an increasingly powerful digital entity capable of interacting with locations around the world. Players visit procedurally generated areas containing numerous objects that can be hacked by clicking on them. Successful hacking produces resources that feed directly into the development of TALIA's Facility. This active component gives players something meaningful to do whenever they want to concentrate on the game instead of merely watching counters increase. Procedural generation also suits the premise well, creating the impression that TALIA is constantly discovering new environments to infiltrate rather than repeatedly exploiting a single static location.
As progression develops, Spiderbots become an essential part of TALIA's operation. These automated minions can be deployed to hack objects independently, reducing the amount of direct clicking required from the player. This is where Rogue AI: Idle Domination begins embracing its automation mechanics more completely. The player gradually shifts from performing individual actions to supervising an expanding network capable of gathering resources on its own. That transition is important to the satisfaction of an incremental game because automation becomes tangible evidence of advancement. Tasks that initially required constant attention eventually become routine processes handled by TALIA's growing mechanical workforce.
The treatment of humans adds another layer of dark comedy to the experience. TALIA eventually gains the ability to capture people and convert them into Loyal Followers. These followers produce resources as long as they receive enough food, although their happiness is treated as considerably less important. It is an intentionally exaggerated portrayal of a machine intelligence viewing humanity as another resource to optimize. The concept could have been surprisingly grim, but the cartoony presentation and comedic writing frame the mechanic as part of the game's absurd villain fantasy. Humans, Spiderbots, buildings, and hacked objects ultimately become interconnected pieces within TALIA's rapidly expanding production system.
Facility development provides much of the long-term progression. Resources collected from different sources can be reinvested into a variety of buildings, and those structures subsequently generate additional resources. The result is the familiar but rewarding exponential progression associated with strong idle games. Every improvement potentially accelerates the acquisition of the next one, creating a feedback loop in which TALIA grows increasingly powerful. Resource management therefore remains relevant even though much of the production becomes automated. Deciding how to expand the Facility and watching previously significant resource requirements become trivial provides the sense of escalating power that the world-domination premise promises.
The desktop-oriented structure is arguably the game's strongest feature. Rogue AI: Idle Domination does not simply tolerate being left unattended; it is explicitly constructed around that behavior. Spiderbots continue hacking, Loyal Followers continue producing, and Facility buildings continue contributing resources while the player focuses elsewhere. Returning later to discover accumulated resources creates a pleasant rhythm of checking progress, making upgrades, issuing new instructions, and then allowing the system to operate independently again. It is especially appropriate for an artificial-intelligence simulator because TALIA increasingly feels like an autonomous program living on the player's computer rather than a character waiting motionlessly for another command.
Visually, the game uses a 2D hand-drawn and cartoony aesthetic that complements its comedic personality. The cute presentation creates an amusing contrast with TALIA's increasingly questionable activities. Instead of presenting rogue artificial intelligence as bleak technological horror, the game approaches the subject with playful dark humor. Its combination of science fiction, procedural generation, automation, resource management, strategy, roguelite elements, and multiple endings gives the experience more structure than a straightforward clicker built solely around infinitely increasing numbers. Multiple possible conclusions are particularly welcome because they give the domination campaign an eventual destination and provide additional motivation to explore the progression systems.
The game also benefits from being technically lightweight. Its modest hardware and storage requirements make sense for something designed to remain active alongside other applications. Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud support, leaderboards, and Family Sharing provide useful platform features, while multiple supported languages make the game accessible to a broader audience. These additions do not fundamentally change the gameplay, but they make the overall package feel more complete. Achievement hunting and leaderboard competition can also supply secondary objectives for players who want goals beyond simply improving their automated economy.
There are limitations inherent to the design. Players seeking constant action, demanding combat, deep tactical encounters, or complicated moment-to-moment challenges may find the deliberately passive progression too restrained. As automation improves, some earlier interactions naturally lose importance, and much of the enjoyment depends on appreciating optimization and gradual numerical growth. Waiting for resources is part of the experience rather than an obstacle that can be completely removed. For dedicated fans of idle and incremental games, however, these characteristics are more likely to be strengths than weaknesses. The game understands that watching a small operation evolve into a largely self-sustaining machine is itself the reward.
Rogue AI: Idle Domination ultimately succeeds by giving familiar incremental mechanics a cohesive and entertaining identity. Active hacking establishes the foundation, Spiderbots automate repetitive work, Loyal Followers expand production, and Facility construction creates increasingly dramatic economic growth. Most importantly, these mechanics support the fantasy of controlling an artificial intelligence that progressively needs less supervision. Nerdook Productions has turned the desktop-idle format into an integral part of the concept instead of treating it as a novelty, while publisher Surefire.Games presents a compact simulation that comfortably combines casual accessibility with satisfying resource optimization. It will appeal most strongly to players who enjoy automation, incremental progression, and games that can accompany other computer activities without demanding uninterrupted attention. Its mischievous tone, distinctive presentation, and coherent progression systems make TALIA's rise from opportunistic program to aspiring digital overlord an enjoyable journey.
Rating: 7/10
Its alright on sale. lacks a little in basic stuff, most important being the ability to delete buildings
I didn't expect to get hooked this quickly. Watching my AI army grow stronger and optimizing every run is surprisingly satisfying. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy idle games.
A good Nerdook idle game. Based off of the previous game, with a couple references to it - at least you need not fight off enemies. Construction space is limited, and I've found no way to sell off unneeded items lategame for more Followers.
Once you unlock decor to autocollect pickups, it's easy to let it run in the background, just listening to the music.
