If you're a fan of roguelikes and card games, this is a must-have. An absolute must-have. I can't stress enough how good it is on both fronts.

First, there's the gameplay loop. What do I mean by that? You start with a random deck. You're thrown into the game with a random deck, rather than a preconstructed one that gives you the false impression that you'll be able to completely change it. No. Right from the start, it gives you something that sometimes takes a while to find in other roguelike card games. In other words, these are the tools you've been handed. Now make them work.

With each victory, you get another card, another resource. And these cards are procedurally generated. So you'll have runs where you never get those fantastic cards, but you still feel like, "I did the best I could with what I had, and I succeeded," which is very, very satisfying in a roguelike.

The gameplay loop involves spells, artifacts, and creatures—or units, as the game calls them—from different factions. What they do isn't exactly random, but their abilities tend to reflect their race. Phoenixes, for example, generally have certain characteristics you'll find more commonly among them. Humans have other characteristics that are more common among them.

Relics can be weapons or non-weapons. Some give your units a persistent bonus for the duration of that match; others let you draw cards or gain more mana. And that's where the game's charm lies, because some advantages are downright broken, and you feel blessed when one of those broken advantages shows up. But I'm spending too much time on the gameplay loop. Let's talk a little about the art.

The game's art is AI-generated and has been very well curated by the creator. He chose good, evocative images, ranging from intimidating giants to beautiful women or women who look like warriors. There are specters, demons, phoenixes, and beasts, all very well illustrated. None of the illustrations are bad, but in one of the latest patches, the developer outdid himself in this department: you can customize the game's artwork. So if, like many people, you have an aversion to AI—I'm not one of them, but anyway—you can put whatever artwork you want in the folder, and the game will use it to replace the existing images. That's a fantastic touch.

The number of commanders is respectable. The game didn't need this many commanders, but it has them, and including them was a great decision. I say it didn't need them because the developer put a lot of effort into this game, far more than he needed to. And it shows. When you play, you can feel that the developer really took care and gave it his all.

The music is good. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. It puts you in a nice mood for a quiet gaming session.

And I believe that once it gets mod support, this game is going to blow up. Really blow up.

I wholeheartedly recommend it. If you like roguelike card games, this is a must-have.

          10 out of 10.

This is an amazing game. Creating, forging, and crafting cards to build your deck feels great, but more importantly, it feels unique.

That said, there are a few things that need improvement, IMO:

Deck management feels weird. Filters are confusing, and some are missing entirely. It's often difficult to quickly find specific cards or even tell them apart in your deck, especially since so many share the same name.

QoL improvements are needed. For example, when you find new cards, there should be an option to instantly add them to your deck.

Runs are pretty fucking long, especially if you have lots of triggers. They can easily take 2+ hours to finish, which is very unusual for a roguelike deckbuilder.

The art is AI-generated, and it looks dull and repetitive. The whole point of card illustrations is to make cards feel unique and easily distinguishable. As it stands, creatures and relics look so similar that you constantly need to hover over them to figure out what's what. Sometimes, you even end up misplaying because you confused one card with another.

          Other than that, 10/10 gameplay.

A almost infinitely replay able Mtg/Hearthstone Roguelike, The variance in card effect and power makes every run feel like a whole new game and the commanders often drastically change each run, the game is more then worth the price tag and I can see myself playing well over 100 hours.
