What players say about Funnel Runners

Funnel Runners is widely praised for its high-quality atmosphere and immersive weather mechanics that capture the tension of severe storms. However, many players note that the current version feels more like a demo due to a severe lack of content, leading to a repetitive gameplay loop after only a few hours.

What players like

  • Atmosphere and Sound 18 of 33 reviews

Reviewers highlight the intense audio design and visuals, which effectively create a sense of panic and dread during storm events.

  • Graphics and Optimization 12 of 33 reviews

For an Early Access title, the game is frequently praised for running smoothly and looking visually impressive beyond its price point.

  • Co-op Chaos 10 of 33 reviews

Playing with friends is described as a highly entertaining experience, particularly when navigating the frantic, procedurally generated weather events.

What players criticise

  • Limited Content 15 of 33 reviews

The most common criticism is that the game currently contains only one map, making the experience feel repetitive very quickly.

  • Anti-climactic Gameplay Loop 8 of 33 reviews

Players express frustration that the main objective is simply to fix a vehicle that cannot be driven, causing the session to end abruptly.

  • Technical and Design Issues 6 of 33 reviews

Users report occasional bugs such as VoIP glitches, physics-related clipping, and unpredictable tornado spawns that can feel unfair.

Best for: Players who enjoy atmospheric survival horror games and are interested in supporting a promising Early Access project from the ground floor.

Not for you if: Players who prioritize deep progression systems, long-term replayability, or a vast amount of content at launch.

Roadmap

About the Game

Welcome to Funnel Runners, where you will have your first on-site deployment with APEX Storm Monitoring Services.

A high-priority F5 tornado is approaching, and we are counting on you (and up to 7 fellow friends) to collect data, scavenge necessary information, and, of course, survive.

The weather is your worst enemy here. Tornados and storms will spawn randomly, grow stronger over time, and tear the whole map apart. Buildings will collapse piece by piece, and items will no longer be found in destroyed areas, so you must adapt quickly.  Be careful not to be swept up by the wind; you may not be found again.

In this mission, you can team up with 7 other players or tackle it solo. Share gadgets, split up to cover more ground, collect necessary information and items to fix the van before the situation turns bad.

With realistic graphics and a first-person perspective, the experience brings you close to every gust of wind, distant siren, and falling piece of debris.

Scavenge the collapsing city for scattered vehicle parts, fuel, and tools. These items will allow you to repair your van and help you survive the storm. Each playthrough features randomized environments, weather, items, and problems to solve on your vehicle. No playthrough will be the same.

Really fun to play, visuals are so good. My GPU is a very power efficient one and I still get really good performance. I love tornadoes. Definitely give a try.

This game is super fun. It's honestly scarier than some horror games out there because the audio is so damn good and immersive.

The Sheer Amount of both fear and amazement i get when playing this game is insane. One minute its calm and totally fine, the next its hailing with three F4 tornadoes just never letting me leave. Add the interactive repairs and its so fun. I may or may not have ran screaming for my life from hearing just the wind, but thats normal right?

Amazing game, 10/10, would recommend for game of the year.

Fantastic game, can be repetitive for solo players but it's sooooo fun... group mode is outstanding! Money well spent!
