I really love artbooks that allow me to look at 3D models as well as concept art! I'm also glad I can at least zoom in closely to the illustration pages!

Unfortunately, I'm sad that I can't zoom in to see the details on character models. I was told that their class weapons have spikes on them in certain areas, in order to drain the students for power (I can see these clearly on Darumi's and Hiruko's, for example), so I really wanted to zoom into the weapon models where the spikes aren't as obvious to see (E.g.: Kyoshika's second hemoanima sword), but oh well.

(Also, to clearly see Takumi's, I had re-watch his first transformation video to see where they were placed clearly, lol.)

Compared to the equivalent artbook app included with Rain Code, this one is quite disappointing. There is very little of interest here in terms of interesting art and most of the concept art is just "the same school room you saw in the game but drawn." Last Defense Academy and the flaming ruins are not as pretty or compelling settings as Kanai Ward and the Mystery Labyrinths, and there's just less interesting detail about the characters otherwise. No swimsuits or other costumes, no in-progress mockups of the designs showing abandoned concepts for the various characters, no pics of ancillary characters that are not part of the core cast, no pics of the bosses or their designs (Two story tall angular metal monsters of a dozen different designs and not even a single piece of art of any of them. What a fucking joke.), no pics of the defense room interior or any environment that is not visible in the first 45 minutes of the game in a game utterly PACKED with one-off environments in the various routes, not one of the game's dozens of story CGs. It is shockingly unambitious and so terrified of showing ANYTHING beyond the first hour of play that it provides almost nothing interesting at all. That said, it is still $6 worth of Hundred Line art.

As a fair warning, you have to turn the sound off IMMEDIATELY because there is no option to remove the horrific EN dub voice clips from the app without changing the app to entirely Japanese

I'll be honest, it's exactly the kind of book I expected for $6.

I do hope they eventually release the full artbook, because there are a lot of elements of the history I'd really love to see like the commanders desing.

By the way, you can view the artbook without finishing the game—it's not a big deal. The biggest spoiler might be Karua's face, but that's about it.
