This is an amazing game that perfectly captures the essence of 80s italian horror. The story, the visuals, the audio, everything aligns perfectly. And the audio is really, really nice.
A shame there are no more episodes as I would love to see where the story went next.

I’m not normally keen of visual novels but wow Cannibal Tales is an experience.

This was so good I wish there was an episode 2 at least or more, feels like a prologue to a really good game. I guess it has been released so long ago that I don't expect any follow ups.

Jeffery Dahmer, Albert Fish, Armin Meiwes, Thomas Hewitt, Hannibal Lecter, Orge Lambart and you mom, plus many others have consumed upon human flesh, whether for their own twisted sick perversions or a need to survive, like that Rugby team that crashed and decided to chomp down on some of their teammates Roast Rumps cannibalism has been a party of human history for as long as history has been recorded. In fact, I’d wager to bet that when man picked up a stick for the first time and bashed it over another man’s head it was likely to cannibalize him to stave off hunger.

Anyway, enough talk about serial killers and cannibals and Hannibal’s and their many victims what brought us to this glorious review section was the game Cannibal Tales Ep 1 (although looking at upcoming games for the developers I don’t see an Ep 2 unfortunately.) The game is a uniquely interesting experience, a visual novel but with some strangely awesome visuals.

The Story – The visual novel follows a writer named Helena, a woman working towards becoming a partner with her Newspaper by securing an interview that no other reporter has been able to lock down.

Gameplay – Normal visual novel gameplay, click the mouse to progress the screens, make numerous choices which will help mold the story and endings you can potential get.

Pro’s
Unique art style
Well written
Easy 100% achievements

Con’s
Kind of short, less then 40 minutes per playthrough
A few achievement bugs
No save system to safe and restart later
Choices have minimal effect on outcome

Recommendation
It's really easy to recommend this game, the price isn’t horrible 4.99 for about an hour and a half, assuming you play through 2 or possibly 3 times to get all the achievements. The story is interesting, it really gave me some strong Silence of the Lambs type vibes, in fact I kind of vaguely remember one scene in particular that took place in one of the movies, (although I might be mistaken it for something else.) With the game featuring a really interesting style and storyline, plus having an easy 100% it’s almost a foregone conclusion that most people should buy it. The only thing really holding the game back is Steams limited profile limitations.
