Description
Anomaly 2 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Anomaly Warzone Earth. Maintaining the core elements of the original, Anomaly 2 adds new features to the single-player campaign and finally puts your skills to a test in a completely unique experience: the dynamic tower defense vs. tower offense multiplayer mode!
In the years following the invasion of Earth in 2018, the planet is overrun by alien machines. Humankind is on the verge of extinction. Banded together in huge convoys, they search the frozen tundra for food and supplies. Since the war, the roles have been reversed: now our species seems to be the Anomaly on a machine-controlled planet. Your convoy, Commander, is called Yukon.
Anomaly 2 takes the RTS tower-offense concept from Anomaly Warzone Earth to a new level. The core elements of the original – tactical planning and the on-field Commander to support troops in combat – are spiced up by a number of important new features.
Key Features:
- Morph your troops into war mechs to discover the new face of strategy: each unit has a different mech form with various abilities to help you overcome specific combat situations.
- Engage in a multiplayer experience unique to Anomaly 2: tower defense vs. tower offense. Play as the towers and destroy the humans or lead the humans to annihilate the alien towers.
- Fight across a post-apocalyptic world in a new single-player campaign that offers a more intense strategy experience than the acclaimed original.
- Carve your own path to victory and create your ultimate battle squad. With over a million tactical combinations to build your squad, your options in combat are nearly endless.
- Dive into a beautifully rendered world, thanks to the team’s upgraded and improved visual engine.
- Experience alternative endings dependent upon your approach to enemy machines in the campaign.

Fun reverse tower defence game. If you loved Anomaly Warzone Earth, you'll probably like this one.
Don't expect any online multiplayer though, and as more than half of the achievements are multi, don't expect to get this one completed with all achievements.
PLayed this game on mobile. Best game I played. Now I bought it for PC and had fun again <3
I like the idea of this game, but it constantly takes away your control while your units move into death. Combined with the wait delay to grab healing pickups my units kept dying because I wasn't allowed to move my commander, upgrade my units, or change routes because some NPC was talking or an event took place on the map. like the stages require.
Maybe this gets better in the later stages, but it's SOOOO consistent in the starting levels I can't stand it. Plus the checkpoints are like 15 minutes apart instead of being at the cinematic map changes. Which yet again compounds this issue...
At least it can run decently on my laptop, but I won't continue with this until this glaring issue is fixed.
works on linux, but needs a bit of finagling.
It starts well, but the more you advance, the more it turns into a light torture.
The game puts the player in an interesting environment, but mid-game the firepower of your enemies is simply too much and your funds not enough to even reach the 3rd power-up, not to mention the low number of checkpoints per mission, the requests of some missions (for ex: "Roam around for 15 minutes to prevent enemy forces to gather around the base") are just silly and boring: you will end up in a tedious Die&Try until one of your tanks will manage to get through with 1 HP.
This is not strategy.
