The world will see a second rebirth, feel the energi once more!
Alphadia, a legendary RPG series of EXE-CREATE is back with a new comeback installment!
Alphadia Neo is a new installment in the Alphadia series, created by a long-running Japanese mobile RPG developer, EXE-CREATE, and published by KEMCO. Originally released in Smartphone devices back in August of 2022, the game received several ports such as PC and Consoles with slight improvements from its original release such as better framerate, enhance pixel graphics, and disregarding its IAP features.
Set in the world of Olden, a world abounds with Energi and is guided by the Energi Crystals. You play as Alt, a man with no memories, as he sets out on an adventure to help a former princess of a ruined kingdom with the help of an energi clone and an adherent on their way to end the war and prevent the emperor of an empire to conquer the world with immense power from the Crystals.
Alphadia Neo’s gameplay is very similar to their recent RPG engine with some differences and added features such as Style and Resonant Skills. And since this is an Alphadia game, Alphadia Neo has six different elemental magics you can learn and different magics to take advantage of in your battles.
The game’s new feature, an exclusive mini-game, Fishing, is a fun addition to take a break from battles and relax.
The game also has an amazing soundtrack. Composed by Rie Yamane, the main composer of the Alphadia series, and Goro Asano, the main composer of the Asdivine series.
And the lovely title and characters art/portraits by Oshiharu and Yumi Tanaka.
Overall, Alphadia Neo is a not-bad but not-good either RPG by EXE-CREATE, since I can’t deny the fact that they reused stuff from their previous games into their new next game and probably that some people don’t like the way EXE-CREATE handle their stories of good vs evil, light and dark fantasy.
Though, this is one of their unique games compared to the developer’s usual RPG that involves the “Hero saves the world and gets a harem ending” trope.
It’s up to you if you want to buy this at full price or in the sale if you don’t like their type of story. Either way, you can help this indie developer to grow and probably makes a better quality RPG in the future, even how it looked like a game made in RPG-MAKER (but honestly it’s not).
I finished the game with much grinding (at the end) at around 27 hours playtime. Like with most of Exe games I started it (and finished it!!!) with Hard difficult.
This time some of the fights were hard to win.
Anyway starting with the plot: you have your usual bunch of teens who are saving the world. During their (linear) quests there are many of those who betrayed them...in fact every of the higher ranks is a scumbag. Your party consists of an guy without memory, an healer, a former drunkard and a clone. And of course there are some more or less funny scenes with them.
Now this game is a little different than other Exe games (I mentioned that it is harder to win against certain bosses).
The differences are: there is no arena, no merging your weapons and no farming for better attribut potions, and there is fishing; also you can play with different settings for skill and formation.
Oh, and your hightest level is 99 (but you can use potions to boost your attributs).
Still in the game is the shop (you don't need to buy the cheat dlc) and a daily roulette and quest system (3 times each real day).
With even only a little grinding level 99 is an easy goal.
And that is one of it major problems...because the normal enemies are just 1 hit and gone and the treasure chests are useless...I bought a good weapon at the very beginning and finished the game with it.
After you finished the game you get the optional content: it is a little small...only 3 dungeons. You can finish them within 30 minutes.
