User Reviews
Lawnmower Game: Racing is a quirky independent racing title developed by Tero Lunkka and Valkeala Software and published by Tero Lunkka. Built around the delightfully unconventional idea of competitive lawnmower racing, the game immediately separates itself from traditional racers by embracing a concept that is equal parts absurd and charming. Rather than striving for realism or high-octane spectacle, it offers a casual arcade experience that focuses on simple fun. Its premise alone is enough to attract players who enjoy exploring the stranger corners of Steam's catalog, where creativity often matters more than budget.
The game's core structure revolves around selecting from several lawnmowers and competing against computer-controlled opponents across multiple tracks. The races are designed to be accessible, with uncomplicated controls that make it easy to jump in and start playing within minutes. There is little in the way of advanced mechanics, but that straightforwardness works in the title's favor. It avoids overwhelming players with technical systems and instead delivers short, easy-to-digest racing sessions. Achievements and a handful of unlockable goals add a sense of progression, encouraging players to spend additional time mastering each course and squeezing out victories against the AI.
From a presentation standpoint, Lawnmower Game: Racing reflects its indie roots. The visuals are modest, featuring uncomplicated environments and vehicle models that prioritize functionality over detail. While it lacks the polish associated with larger racing franchises, there is a certain earnestness behind the design choices. The tracks are varied enough to prevent the game from feeling entirely repetitive, and the unusual sight of lawnmowers speeding around circuits gives the experience a unique identity. Audio design follows a similarly simple philosophy, with serviceable sound effects that complement the action without becoming a focal point.
One of the game's greatest strengths is its commitment to its unusual theme. Many novelty games lose their appeal after a few minutes, but Lawnmower Game: Racing makes a sincere effort to provide a complete package. The inclusion of multiple race locations and vehicle options demonstrates that the developers wanted to create more than a one-note joke. That said, the limitations become increasingly noticeable over time. The AI lacks sophistication, race strategies are minimal, and the available content can be exhausted relatively quickly. Players seeking a deep and endlessly replayable experience will likely find themselves wishing for additional modes, customization options, or multiplayer support.
Despite these shortcomings, there is an undeniable appeal to the game's lighthearted nature. It does not attempt to compete with genre heavyweights, nor does it pretend to offer a revolutionary racing experience. Instead, it succeeds by understanding its niche audience: players who appreciate unconventional ideas and are willing to overlook technical limitations in exchange for something memorable. In an industry filled with increasingly complex and serious releases, there is something refreshing about a game that simply asks, "What if lawnmowers raced each other?" and commits fully to answering that question.
Ultimately, Lawnmower Game: Racing is best viewed as a budget-friendly curiosity rather than an essential addition to every racing fan's library. Its accessible gameplay, humorous premise, and straightforward design make it an entertaining diversion for short play sessions. While it lacks the depth and refinement necessary to stand alongside more established racing titles, it earns points for originality and enthusiasm. Players who enjoy oddball indie projects will likely appreciate what it offers, even if its novelty eventually wears thin.
Rating: 5/10
This is a very interesting game about a lawn mower. With of elements racing. Lawn mowers are a lot of fun to ride. It's like NFS with a lawn mower. The goal of the game is to get to the finish line on a lawn mower and it has a lot of achievements.
Lawnmower Game: Racing – 500 OUT OF 5 STARS!!!
The greatest grass-blasting, oil-chugging, AI-destroying lawnmower racer of all time!
Move over Gran Turismo, step aside Need for Speed, because Lawnmower Game: Racing has entered the turf, literally. This isn’t just a game. It's an experience. A turbo-charged, grass-slashing, short-cut-hunting, checkpoint-sparkling lawnmower symphony.
From the moment I chose my mower, with four legendary options, each growling with raw garden power, I knew I was in for the ride of a lifetime. These aren’t just lawnmowers. They are finely tuned racing machines built in someone’s backyard, fueled by sheer determination, golden oil barrels, and a faint smell of gasoline.
26 tracks, endless chaos, ultimate glory.
Whether you're speeding through snow, drifting through cities, or cutting corners in deep forest tracks (yes, cheating is encouraged!), each course offers a wild and hilarious adventure. You’ll discover themes, Easter eggs, and Sparkling Checkpoints™ that light up like your neighbor's front yard at Christmas.
Every level hides a Golden Oil Barrel, and finding one feels better than winning the lottery. Why? Because it comes with a Steam achievement. And yes, I'm going to get them all and display them like racing trophies on my profile.
THE AI RIVALS?
They're fierce, unpredictable, and they are other lawnmowers. Three of them. They will mow you down if you don’t bring your A-game. Every race is a battle of blades.
Performance?
Runs perfectly on my GeForce potato. You don’t need a mega rig. If your PC can breathe, it can run this masterpiece.
Final Verdict:
Lawnmower Game: Racing is an undisputed 500/5. It’s pure, chaotic fun wrapped in a lawn-scented package. It’s the kind of game that makes you say, “What am I playing?” and then play it for four more hours. Better that diddys baby oill!!! 500000/5
Incredible! Truly a game to remember! I’ve already 100% it on stream, and I still can't stop playing it! Beware, when you start playing, you might just start having thoughts of becoming a lawnmower. You’ll begin to inhale oil like one and might even try to convince your friends to join in and race as lawnmowers too! The obsession doesn’t end there – you’ll spend all your money on pure gold to create gold barrels just to collect them for achievements. It’s pure agony, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
This is the best game ever made. It is a life-changing experience that will keep you coming back time and time again. The way they open up the story and introduce the characters is truly unforgettable. The final cutscene almost made me—
...okay, enough joking around. The graphics are mostly flat colour. The speedometer is pretty useless. The position (1st, 2nd etc.) is completely inaccurate. A few of the courses are just straight lines. All the characters are exactly the same, and incredibly basic. The music is hilariously bad. One of the 'lawnmowers' is a street sweeper (not a lawnmower). The best thing is if you fall off the course (which is possible on some courses), you will keep falling forever.
Plus, the grass doesn't even get cut when you drive over it with your lawnmower.
