The game is LITERALLY unfinished. There's an achievement for a level 36 that is inaccessible.
Each level is insanely strict, having a SINGLE solution, with some of the later levels being insanely unintuitive and wonky that when you finally see the solution, you're not left with satisfaction, but instead a feeling of "what the ♥♥♥♥, how the ♥♥♥♥ was I supposed to figure that out?".
It's not very expensive, but it's still one of the few games that I'm going to request a refund for.
Programmer Dungeon Knightress is a programming puzzle game and not a open-ended, problem solving game. There are tight parameters on the solutions unlike real programming and Zach-likes, where your goal is to find elegant solutions. Steep difficulty level unlike the video they show you.
So if you like pure puzzles this is your game if you want large solution set, problem solving games, this game is not it.
Well, the game is really nice and simple. I was able to finish it in about 1 hour, including the DLC.
I realized after "finishing" it that despite a Steam achievement for level 36, it's currently impossible to get it, and reading through the comments, the devs have published a Roadmap, a temporary solution for level 36 and other stuff.
Problem: I've got the feeling that the devs have abandoned the game and there will be no more updates.
It's been a year since we should have seen more content, but there's still absolutely nothing.
So it's impossible to finish the game, despite the devs' slight involvement with the community.
Perhaps I'll reconsider once the devs have fixed the issues on this game and I'll wait for them to do so before looking at the other games they have to offer.
The game is unfinished, and I think it might have been abandoned. Wasn't really my cup of tea. Maybe I've just played too many other programming games, but this one felt a little restrictive, like there was only 1 right answer for most levels.
This is... surprisingly more complicated than it looks in the videos on the store page.
And it gets hard fast. Not tedious.... hard.
Still easier than Baba Is You
