Ehhhh, not worth it, like, its fun for the first few hours, but then it just gets boring and repetitive, and while i would still recommend this over ASE or ASA, i would also recommend most other games.

they couldn't even spell or use proper grammar in their achievements, why did i think the game would actually be good because newsflash; it isn't.

PixArk is great game, but for me. There is one big issue that stop me from recommend this game as of right now and the issue is that i cannot access any of my saved characters in the game.

This game is Snail's poor attempt to capitalize on the success of games like Minecraft. It is clunky, buggy, boring, and frustrating. At a glance, it looks like a reskinned version of ARK. However, the lack of properly satisfying complexity is honestly what made me shelve this one.

The difficulty in this game basically boils down to "can I break/damage that?". The mining system is similar to Terraria, except you need a better pick to break EVERY NEW TIER of ore. Imagine if a copper pick could ONLY break iron/lead. Yeah. This results in hours of searching for the ores you need in biomes full of enemies that will destroy you. Also, many enemies just don't take meaningful damage from certain tiers of weapon, which is frustrating and often unintuitive to figure out.

The taming system in this game is also a clunky mess. Taming "magic" creatures requires a completely different tranq, which makes sense superficially, but overcomplicates things when compared to regular ARK. Creatures also just feel SO WEAK, and punching up at even marginally stronger enemies is usually a death sentence. Maybe I just have a skill issue, but I don't remember my tames dying this easily in ARK...

This game is also full of bloat, and most tames are practically useless. Most of its updates involve events or the occasional paid, mostly cosmetic, weirdly-named DLC. I've yet to buy a single DLC, and probably won't ever (if I pick up this game again). I WILL give them props for making several of the largest DLCs free, however.

Overall, this game fails to hit that sweet spot between simplicity and complexity that makes the games it's imitating so alluring. It overcomplicates the wrong things, which makes for an unsatisfying and artificially-lengthened gameplay loop.

tl;dr: Just play regular ARK or modded Minecraft.

The game has some lag issues that are mostly not an issue, but the almost instant-kill traps some of the structures have are just a complete crap shoot. Nothing makes a man rage quit more then dying to a near instant-kill dart trap because a pixel of your booty was near it. This also apply's to spike traps, I've "touched" them when i'm a block away many times..

Ain't no way this game has been out for this long and still only has partial controller support, especially when the main game has full controller support, and this is essentially a dumbed down version. I can't even crouch. Insane.

If you are planning on playing a game with a few friends this game is not for you. I spent most my time working in the week or studying and then the small amount of time I have to play with friends I wasted trying to figure out how we can play together on this stupid game. LAN does not work, singleplayer does not work, servers are just an endless loading screen so I got desperate and decided to rent a private server, in the private server a directory could not be found spent the whole night to fix it and I cant get my money back for the server, I got credits instead. Sorry for the rant but I dont know how in the modern day we cant just do some local game and join friends in a private world. Genuinely ruined my night. Thanks.

this is kind of extremely boring even if it looks like a minecraft version of Ark, I just don't feel like playing it, I tried and tried and it's just a mess, you kind of lvl up too fast, no thing feels satisfying

I use to love the game, but I've found in the later stages of the game it becomes corrupt, and ruins the world you spent countless hours to build. Elevators not working, Fireflys taking off to who know where, ALL the dino's go into attack mode for no reason! While out in the world your pet does the same thing and just takes off and starts attacking HIGH LEVEL dino's. It's simply crappy that all this stuff happens to ruin the game.

This game has a great potential and this is why it hurts even more to see how much of an easy cash-grab it seems to be for the developers. To picture what I mean: I unlocked a blueprint, spent skillpoints to learn it and then spent the materials to craft it just to find out I can only place it after buying a DLC - AWFUL predatory practice with no respect for the dinos!

I admit I had mixed feelings before buying the game - on one hand, as an obsessive dinosaur enthusiast, I had lots of fun with Ark and I always want MORE DINO GAMES, but at the same time, what I wanted from this, was a dino game that is thought through, well designed and "a whole". Unfortunately, I can't say any of this about PixARK... it feels like someone asked ChatGPT to make a Minecraft version of Ark and put a price tag on it. Lazy, copy-paste solutions from both games mushed together with a minimal effort to make them interact well with each other. Clunky as hell, and using the first person view feels like swimming in honey.

Having said that, I refunded the game after only 1h of playing due to being pissed off with the nasty foot-in-the-door tactics in place here, so I can't say it wouldn't get better if I gave it a longer go. Which I will not, unless they start caring about something else than my money.

Its a great game some people might not like the game becuase it different in a lot of ways but its still a rally fun game and ASA is way to much to handle no consal can play that with out crashing every five seconds.

Works about half the times I try to play it on lan.

every few years I come across this game in my library and I think to myself "hey, maybe this time will be different" and inevitably uninstall the game less than 24hrs later.

Do you not remember the base game being turned off and forcing people into more DLC only to encounter the same Day 1 bugs in the game 5 years later? Or when they re-released it with a new name and it had the same bugs? Or when they re-released it as a rail shooter with the same bugs

Fucking Wildcard scam games

I love this game. I know many people feel like it is just worse ARK. That it does not have as many features. That it is sometimes unpolished. And they may be true. But it is pixelated dinosaurs in blocky world. You can hunt, you can mine, you can build, you can tame and breed. Also, I get a feeling during last two years frequence of updates is getting quicker. It feels like this game is finally getting more attention. And I love it.

The gaming eras coming to an end... since 2018 this game has not gotten a proper update since 2018. achievements don't work. The console version was already bad enough with its issues let alone the so called "mighty PC" version. Dinos clip through buildings so on so fourth. wait till the game gets an update or a more hopeful solution the world gets more active developers and game testers soon.

I love ark and when i saw and bought this game i loved it too, i would totally recommend it

I enjoy Ark, and I enjoy Minecraft but I didn’t enjoy this. The main reason? Bugs and glitches that hinder progression and create frustrating inconveniences, making it feel like a waste of time. Simply that. Given the lack of effort in fixing long-standing issues in Ark, and now this. I’ll be holding off on future releases until I see a shift in priorities via the community reviews.

This game is the best it is kind of like Minecraft but more advanced there's dragons wolves and more. This is a great game I recommend this game if you like games like Minecraft

Would not buy.

I liked the game, it had potential. Essentially Ark without the glitchy terrain and easier building and progression. However, thats about were the good news ends.

The game lacks thought from a player perspective first of. Whoever decided to have humans climb one block while dinos can glide up them clearly never played it. The instant you hit something it takes off like ark, unlike ark however, you cannot move around the terrain fast do to the horrible jumping. So you cannot out chase or run anything that is up or down hills (the entire game is) because it will just run 10x faster than you because they dont get stuck one block at a time. Apart from mechanics, the games lacking in any good code.

The game is riddled with bugs just like ark that will never be fixed. This one in particular feels like a mobile budget Chinese knock off of Ark. While many bugs arent game breaking they are insanely annoying, not to mention that many aspects of the game are unfinished. There are items with different icons, yet the same name.

For example,
Item: Chitin
Icon: of Chitin
InGame Name: Chitin
Tool Tip:..... just says "Chitin"

Another Item: Chitin Paste
Icon: Paste
InGame Name: Chitin
Tool Tip: Can be used as an adhesive. Has a wide range of uses.

??? How do you have items that have missing, incorrect, not complete text? You remaking a game you couldnt at MINIMUM copy the text from Ark?? Its insanity. Stay away from anything and everything Snail Games or Wildcard Studios ever touches. Ark SE - Failure and abandoned, Ark ASA - Failure and abandoned, Ark II - delay, delay, abandoned?

Fun game. For all intent and purposes, it's Minecraft meets Ark. Some of the building mechanics are a bit janky and/or off centre, and combat can be iffy sometimes, but it's not game breaking or anything and I really enjoy this. It's fun and relaxing.
